Selection of submissions is about the quality of your work, but moreso about what works together for the issue as a whole.
I am looking for visionary art which encompasses depth of meaning and grace of execution. This can be in the form of poetry, flash fiction, creative nonfiction, or visual art. Nothing superficial or formulaic will be considered.
In terms of length, it can be as short as you like, but not more than a few standard typewritten pages for written work. For visual work, I am assuming each piece can be formatted to fit an appropriate page size.
There is no restriction on simultaneous submissions or previous publication. Before publication I will ask for a written (emailed) statement affirming that you own the copyright to the piece(s). I will also ask you for a contributor's bio (see Contributors' page for examples) and the form in which you wish your copyright notification to appear.
Please submit your work in the body of an email, or send in the body of an email a web address where the work can be seen with specific indication of which piece(s) you are submitting. If this does not work in specific instances, we will individually work out another method. Please indicate in the subject line of the email that this is a submission to Emerging Visions, and, if pertinent, the issue number and/or theme name. The email address for all submissions and correspondence is:
